Think like The Great Putters

are the great putters. Regular putters usually give themselves up just because
they believe that they cannot do it well. They always remember the putts that
they missed and never forget, but they never remember their successful putts.
Besides believing in themselves, good
putters also love their ways to putt. They have strong beliefs that they will
succeed in their putts. Although you are not a great putter, you have the right
to "think" the same way they do.
1. Brilliant Attitude
Using a good attitude to make your putts is
considered significant. Having a good attitude means believing that you are a
good putter, being confident in your putt, believing in your feelings rather
than the putting system, and believing that you are going to make a successful
putt. Good putters are more likely to make a putt without being afraid of
putting. You will never make a good putt if you play golf believing that you
cannot make a putt. Try to have a good attitude and compete with yourself will
make you putt much better.
2. Putt-able Belief
You will never be a good putter if you just
make a putt hoping that it will be successful. Good putters know that they must
believe in what they see, accept your decision, and believe that you will
successfully putt after you make a decision on putting. You should strive to
keep it this way although your putts have been missed so many times.
3. Concentrating On the Putt
Because your target is to make a successful
putt, you must concentrate on everything about putting starting from
understanding the green, reading the line, aiming the putter to the hole, and
making a decision by yourself. If you could do all these things, you will have
high chances to make a successful putt.
4. Believing in Your Feelings and Senses
Ben Crenshaw, one of the world's greatest
putters, said "If you want to be a good putter, you will have a good
feeling when you are on green". Good putters believe in their instinct,
not some other things. They use their feelings, senses, instinct, and imagination.
They know the way to putt without knowing "how" to putt.
5. Using your own imagination
Putting is the process of looking, and that
comes from your imagination. You must be a good green reader and able to
"see" or "feel" the right way to putt. Using your
imagination will help you read the green and line that your ball will be
running on. The more clearly you see the way to putt, the more chances you will
succeed.
