If you don’t know how to play poker, Texas Holdem is very easy to learn. The game of Texas Holdem is played over four betting rounds. In the first round each player is dealt two private cards and then choose to fold, bet or raise based on the strength of these cards. In the second round, three community cards are placed face up on the table for all of the players to share. The second round of betting, called the “Flop” round, then takes place. Then a fourth community card is placed on the table and the third round of betting, known as “Turn” takes place. In the final round one additional community card is placed face up on the table and the final round of betting takes place. This is known as the “River” round. In the end of the game is the showdown in which each player reveals a five-card hand made up of private and community cards. The strongest hand wins.

Omaha Hi-Lo is very similar to Texas Holdem. The differences are slight—in Omaha Hi-Lo each player receives four private cards in the first round, as opposed to two. In the end, each player’s five-card hand must be made up of two private cards and three community cards. Another difference is that in Omaha Hi-Lo the prize pot is split between the player with the highest hand and the player with the lowest qualifying hand.

Poker strategy for the games of Texas Holdem and Omaha Hi-Lo are similar. Opening hands are very important. Private card hands with double Kings, double Queens, double Aces or an Ace paired with a King or a Queen are very strong. If you don’t have a strong starting hand it is advised to fold because your chances of winning will be slim. As the game progresses, if your hand does not improve you should also fold. In poker gambling you always need to know when to fold in order to minimize your losses. You can find man online poker tips in articles on the Internet.
