When you go to purchase a swimming pool cover, there are usually three different choices that you have. There are the winter covers, safety covers, and solar pool covers. The company that made your swimming pool should usually have a large line up of products that will help you for whatever you need. Some companies even offer customized designs on the pool covers. The most important thing is that you know what you want to buy when you go looking for it, being unacknowledged to what you need when you go to the store would be a waste of time because you may end up buying the wrong pool cover.
There are different types of pool covers as far as style goes. You can get covers that you pull across the pool with your hands and the automatic covers which will unroll the cover after pressing a button. If you want to live luxurious, you can even get a remote control for your pool cover, now that’s style! However, the automatic pool covers can be fairly expensive and not always worth it in the end but having a very large pool may mean that you are better off with an automatic pool cover.
The winter covers are obviously made for the winter. These covers must last through the cold for months on end, and may even be used year round. The cover is necessary in the winter to keep dirt and debris out of your pool, including branches and leaves which may damage your filtering system. The majority of winter pool covers are created with mesh like material but some are designed like tarps to stop anything from getting in.
There are also pool covers made with woven material which lets snow and water to dip into the pool just slightly even when the cover is on it. Winter pool covers will keep everything out so when opening it again in the summer months may mean that the pool will need a good cleaning or at least some water pumped out, due to the fact that rain and snow can cause extra water in the pool.
Another well known type of pool cover is the safety cover. The job that the safety cover does is prevents small children or animals from falling into the pool by accident. The materials that are used for this type of cover are usually very strong and tight, for example, net or mesh like materials which can usually hold a fair amount of weight. This type of pool cover differentiates from others as it is securely tightened to anchors located on the sides of the pool to stop anyone from sliding under and getting in the pool.
Another popular type of pool cover is the solar cover. They stop water from getting in, as well as heat. It also stops evaporation and works with in-ground pools just like it does with above ground pools. The material used to make solar covers is usually synthetic polyethylene which can catch sun rays and use the energy from the sun rays to heat the water in the pool. This is great so your water doesn’t get cold if it’s cold the night before. Solar pool covers are great for the environment and put the water temperature up by 10-15 degrees.
Swimming pool covers are a great thing to buy if you have a pool because they can help save any possible messes, energy, and the environment!
