Intense Focus


Intense focus is the classic method of hypnosis. You had seen it in most movies where the hypnotist used an object and tells the person to focus his attention to that object. That object can come in various forms with the most famous one being the clock pendulum. The object can also be the circle containing a line going spiral which has the ability to make the person go drowsy. The less known ones are the candle flame, where the person is being told to divert his attention to the flickering flame.


Intense focus works by telling the person to divert all his attention to the object. After some time, the person will be tuned out. During this point, the hypnotist will start to do his work by talking an in slow and gentle manner. His tone is soothing and relaxing, this way, he creates the atmosphere for relaxation.

This technique has been a hot favourite for stage hypnotists as it is well known of its high response rate and sometimes its high entertainment value. In this technique, the hypnotists attack the person in an unexpected timing with strong and powerful commands. The reason for its strong and powerful commands is to make a forceful impact on the person so that the person will be more convinced that he is under the command of the hypnotist. Only when the person believes he is under the power of hypnotists that the hypnotists can offer suggestions to the subconscious mind of the person.


Take It Easy


This method aims to put the subject in full relaxation. He will be so comfortable and at ease that with his defenses down; he will be open to suggestions by the hypnotist. Most frequently utilized by psychiatrists, relaxation for them is the way to go, especially for patients with ailments or for those in a state of extreme stress or trauma. As part of a therapeutic program, the method induces a feeling of well being which, on the event that may not directly affect the treatment of the condition, will still be beneficial to the patient.


Besides being named "Take it easy", this technique has another name called “progressive relaxation and imagery technique,”. Not only does this technique used for treatment, it is also used for self-hypnosis, self-improvement sessions. Usually slow -paced music and fragrant scents are used to create the conducive atmosphere to kill of any distractions from the outside world and stay in touch with the inner self.
